Porte Noire - A celebrity endorsement for our high-end catering equipment

We were honoured to have been invited by iFour Hospitality to equip Idris Elba’s new wine bar, Porte Noire, in Kings Cross, London, with high quality kitchen equipment. 

 

Having supplied and installed commercial catering installations to a number of high-end hospitality establishments in and around London and the South-East, our experienced Marigold Engineers Limited team did another professional job. 

We’re not admitting that we were a little star struck, but when the celebrity, actor, producer, director and musician turned up on site to inspect our work, one of our team caught Idris on a camera. Idris, who turns 50 next year, has invested in the venture with his friend David Farber, who is a wine expert. 

 

Porte Noire, which officially opened on October 27th, is situated at Coals Drops Yard, close to Kings Cross Station, in a refurbished former gas container. It has flats above and the hospitality outlet below is high-end, with a hint of its former industrial setting.

The Victorian brick arches and cobbled streets at Coals Drops Yard have recently been transformed using contemporary designs to complement the historic buildings. It is now a fashionable 21st Century shopping and leisure hub with restaurants, galleries and 50 shops. 

 

Porte Noire is likely to prove to be a popular upmarket attraction for numerous reasons. Idris already has an established wine and champagne brand and Porte Noire will sell his champagne and rose wine, some spirits, along with and about 800 different wines.
